AES 2.0 features adjustable sensitivity settings for each user. Some users have little tolerance for spam and others may be willing to take a little spam to avoid having to deal with quarantined messages and false positives. AES gives each user full control over how messages are handled. Some users may prefer a combination of tagging and rejection, others may simply want to minimize spam as much as possible and use a quarantine to hold anything that falls within the questionable range. AES provides flexible options for handling your spam. Domain administrators have full control over settings for all users and can even disable end-user control panel access completely for users who may have difficulty understanding the concept of spam management.
With easy-to-use documentation and a clean, untiutive interface, AES can be easily deployed to all users in your entire company. Administrators can maintain transparency if they do not wish to allow users or customers to have access to the web-based controls.
Spam tagging is an AES feature that allows users to receive spam in their inbox with a special identification tag applied. This tag allows you to apply a simple client-side filter to move tagged messages to a local junk folder. Tagging is especially useful when used in conjunction with rejection to strike a balance between bouncing positively identified spam and allowing questionable messages to be tagged and delivered.
Rejection allows you to set a threshold at which messages will be bounced to the sender. Each message that passes through AES receives a score based on several factors, including forgery detection, known spam phrases and keywords, and relay IP address. This scoring system gives users the ability to set their own level at which messages are classified as spam.
When quarantine is activated, "spammy" messages will be held on AES servers for a period of at least seven days, allowing the recipient time to search for messages that may be legitimate. If non-spam is found in quarantine, users can easily release the message and have it from queue so it can be delivered to their inbox.
Redirection is a seldom-used feature that allows a system administrator the option of redirecting all spam for an entire domain to a single mailbox. There are privacy and security concerns with using this feature. Redirection is a legacy feature and generally not recommended, since the redirection mailbox can very quickly grow to unmanagement proportions.
